About the tutor
Rachel began informally studying ceramics in 2005. Following the birth of her first daughter, and thanks to the support of her husband and family, she started her own pottery business in 2015. Rachel uses white and dark stoneware clays for both her hand thrown pieces on her pottery wheel, as well as hand built pottery.
With a background in conservation and agriculture, the landscape of the Yorkshire Dales has been hugely influential in her work. All of her homemade glazes incorporate a variety of natural materials found and foraged in the Three Peaks area.
You can find out more about Rachels work on her website www.rachelinthedales.co.uk.
